Limited to ONE bag per person per week (can be as large as an XL garbage bag)

DROP OFF REQUIREMENTS

  • All consignors are required to have signed our newest contract (access available below under the ‘contracts’ section or in-store)

  • Items must all be folded and contained in ONE bag (preferably plastic).

    • Exception if bringing in Men’s and Women’s items together, please separate them accordingly into two bags

    • We will not accept loose items, nor will we accept items in bins or on hangers

  • Items must be freshly washed (exception is if it is brand-new with the original tags attached)

  • All items must be in like-new condition – we will not accept items with snags, holes, stains, pilling, missing buttons, broken zippers, or other disrepairs

ACCEPTED INTO OUR INVENTORY

  • Size XSmall to XLarge in both women's and men's wear

  • Accessories such as belts, hats, wallets, purses, gloves, sunglasses, watches

  • All seasons of clothing are accepted all year round – limitations in storage and inventory availability mean in-season items take priority (we may not accept out-of-season items that we typically would if we do not have the room for them in the store at the time they are dropped off)

  • Brands: in determining whether items are accepted into inventory, we take into consideration both the style and brand of item to decide what will sell based on our customer clientele

    • Brands that tend to perform well: Aritzia (Wilfred, Babaton, TNA, etc.), Lululemon, American Eagle, Aerie, Levi’s, Free People, Zara, H&M, Gentle Fawn, Dynamite, Abercrombie and Fitch, Urban Outfitters 

    • We do not accept: Costco/Kirkland/Tuff Athletics, Walmart/George, Urban Planet, Bluenotes, custom/handmade pieces

    • No brand items: We are very selective in accepting items without a brand, and those that are entered into inventory are priced low and do not get posted to our online store

 

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A DROP OFF

After your first drop-off we will send an email with the information to access your consignor account provided to you. With this account you can see your items that have sold and the amount of revenue that you have gained from your consignment with us.

ITEM RETURNS

  • Consignors can choose between rejected items being returned to them or donated locally to Boys and Girls Club.

    • If you choose to have your items returned, you will be contacted via email once we have gone through your drop-off (telling you whether there are any items to be picked up).

    • If you choose to donate, we will not contact you regarding your drop-off. 

  • The consignor will be given one week to pick up item returns.

    •  Please note: If you do not pick up your items by the assigned pickup deadline they will be generously donated to Big Brothers and Big Sisters & Haven House Society. 

  • We will not provide an itemized list of what items are accepted or rejected.

TIMELINES

  • Items are estimated to take 30 to 90 days to be added to our inventory from the time they are dropped off. 

  • After being added to our inventory (i.e. put out on the floor), items have 90 days to sell under the consignor before they become store property – at which point items can be donated at our discretion

  • As the consignor, you are responsible for keeping track of the item timelines – we do NOT contact consignors at the end of 90 days. If the consignor would like items that do not sell after 90 days to be returned to them, they must give us 24 hours notice via email.

    • Please consider we do not encourage this option as it is a very time-consuming process for our staff to pull all of a consignor’s items.

    • If there are select items you would like returned, we prefer this to the entirety of your items. 

CONSIGNOR CREDIT AND PAYOUTS

  • The consignor receives 40% of the total item value at the time of sale

  • A minimum of  $50.00 in consignor credit is required for a payout, however credit can be used for in-store purchases at any time.

  • Payouts are done by e-transfer on the 15th of the month (exception if we are closed or it is a statutory holiday, in which case you will be paid on our next day of operation)

    • A payout must be requested by email before 12:00pm on the 15th of the month 

 

LEIV IT OR LOVE IT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO THE FOLLOWING

  • Accept or decline merchandise we deem appropriate for the store.   
  • Determine the selling price of all items based on age, condition, brand, and style (unless the item qualifies for our “Luxury Consignment Contract”)
  • Change the price of items reflecting its time in the store. 
  • Donate any items that have been on the sales floor for 90 days, or are discovered to be damaged AFTER the initial process of steaming and pricing.  
  • Freeze payouts if the store is forced to shut down for unforeseen reasons (pandemic).
  • Retract credit from the consignor account if their item has been returned for an online exchange.
  • Sell items on other platforms such as eBay, Poshmark, etc.

 

CONTRACTS

ALL consignors and vendors must have an up-to-date contract signed. This is mandatory: we will not accept any items from individuals who do not have this requirement fulfilled.

LUXURY ITEM CONTRACT:

We have a separate contract for anyone interested in consigning luxury items. To qualify for this contract, the item must be $500.00+.

  • Authentication is of item is required:

    • Upon drop-off proper documentation of authentication is to be provided.

    • If further authentication is required (at the discretion of the store owner) the consignor must pay a fee of $26.00 per item.

  • LIOLI uses Real Authentication to authenticate items, this process is done entirely online so your item does NOT leave the store.

  • Consignor split will be 60/40. You the consignor will receive the 60% 

  • Consignors hold the right to propose their ideal selling price, and inform us of the original price during its initial purchase. Leiv it or Love it can then counter a price until an agreed upon amount is set.
